One Month Into Yoga Teacher Training: Reflections, Tips & the Little Routines Holding Me Up
One month into yoga teacher training and I have completely transformed – beyond the 10 lb weight loss, muscle growth and body recomposition too! My mind, body, and soul are more aligned than they’ve ever been and I am able to tap into my flow state so much better even outside of my physical yoga practice! Here’s what’s changed, how I’ve grown, and what surprised me most, plus the tips I’d give anyone thinking about starting their own journey. Thanks for being here bestie – comment below what you’d love to hear more about – subscribe to see when my next yoga teacher training update posts!
1. Choosing the right school matters more than you think…
Alignment first, always. The school has to fit YOUR journey, not the other way around. I researched for 3 months before deciding, and by the time I did I just knew in my heart it was the correct choice. My advice: try a few classes before committing if you don’t feel fully called to one school, because you learn more in one drop-in class than 10 hours of research. Interview the instructors too, and review the curriculum if possible! Ask about their training, their philosophy, how they support students through the hard weeks – and how comprehensive the training is – some schools focus on various parts of the YTT more than others! There is a wide range of instruction timeline wise – I chose a year long comprehensive program but some may find a 3 month fast track better – plenty in between as well!
2. I’ve completely repatterned my days – YTT runs the flow and life adjusted perfectly
Sticking to a routine while supporting my physical health has changed everything, but it could not be the afterthought, it had to be the primary driver of my day! This repattern was what let me freely receive the transformative, all-encompassing energy of yoga instead of fighting it into a compartmentalized hour surrounding the grind that stresses me out. Create the life you desire and the universe will conspire to ensure it works – even better than you expect!
3. The small supportive routines doing the heavy lifting
Adding simple supportive routines has been the unsung hero of this month. The little things that make the big transformation sustainable – like a nice spot for my gear, opening and closing my practice, and proper supplementation. One of my new favorites for supps: Humann SuperBeets Heart Chews – I added these in before morning yoga. They are an easy, delicious way to support healthy blood pressure while I’m putting my body through training. Each serving has 150mg of grape seed extract, which is clinically shown to help support healthy blood pressure. They’re plant-based, individually wrapped so I can grab one on my way out the door, and the acai berry flavor is genuinely delicious.Try them here! [HumanN partner}

If you’re one month behind me or one year ahead, here’s what I know: transformation isn’t one big moment. It’s an ever evolving routine built of all your small routines, stacked with divine intention. What new journey have you begun recently? Is Yoga Teacher Training on your agenda?
