Bacon Slider Bar

A bacon slider bar is your secret strategy to either a winning Game Day spread or a simple, crew pleasing weeknight dinner that will be regularly requested. The choice ultimately lies in your hands bestie. Luckily, whatever you choose you’ll have a delicious meal ready for your squad in record time. My favorite thing about these bacon sliders is how easy they are to make. I skipped the frying pan and opted to create this recipe on a parchment lined baking sheet to save stovetop space, but love how it also saves time and let’s you work on assembling the rest of the dinner while they bake instead of flipping them and (if you’re anything like me) inevitably burning some.

Not a ground beef fan? No problem.

I get it. Went through a long phase of not even being able to smell or eat beef much less create and cook a recipe with it. But those days are long gone for me, though I do only eat ground beef in the form of burgers, an overseasoned spaghetti meatball or taco meat, I’m still picky and that’s never going to change. The best alternatives for this recipe are ground chicken or turkey, though I think any other ground meat or meatlike substance (for you vegans, no shade) would work well.

Bacon Slider Bar Recipe

– 1 lb lean ground sirloin or chuck can also substitute ground chicken, turkey, etc

– 1 cup chopped cooked bacon, cooked in the oven for best results

– 1 teaspoon steak seasoning (I like the Good & Gather brand from Target)

– 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

– 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic

– Salt & pepper to taste (sprinkle before baking – optional as the steak seasoning includes it)

Start by preheating your oven to 425F and remove anything that may be in there (you’ll need a baking sheet and parchment paper while you’re at it)

Get out your favorite mixing bowl, I know you have one, we all do. Add your ground beef, chopped bacon, steak seasoning, onion powder and minced garlic.

Put on your gloves and mix it all up bestie. If you haven’t already, line your baking sheet with parchment paper. Pro moves only.

Form small slider sized patties and flatten them on the parchment paper. Leave a little space in between but not much,  they’ll shrink anyway.

Crack some fresh salt and pepper from your favorite grinders onto the burgers, and set them to bake for 10-20 minutes, more if needed.

While you’re waiting, set out all of the remaining ingredients for your slider bar. I recommend cheese slices, lettuce leaves, tomato slices, dressings and more bacon if you’re really extra. Oh, and buns. Don’t forget the buns. Make sure your lettuce leaves are big enough to be used as buns for your bunless squad members, and if you want to really impress them, make some veggie base bun alternatives like sliced rounds of fried potatoes or fried sweet potatoes. Those are SO good with these. But if time is limited, a lettuce wrap is always a hit.

Anyways, once those patties are done bestie, you’re done too. Simple as that. Dinner on the table in like 30 minutes tops. Let me know how it goes and send this to someone who will love an easy ground beef recipe next time they’re in a hurry with people to feed.
